The day that had to come~ Allie's surgery

Well it has been 4 days since Allie went in for her tonsils and adenoids to be removed. And I have to say I love this girl. She hardly has even complained. The mornings are the hardest. Mostly because the medicine has worn off and her mouth is extra dry from sleeping. Once we get the pain medicine down (witch is the hardest part, because it has codeine in it and it burns her throat) she is her old little self, just not as active. As tired as she is from eating ice cream and popsicles she is being a trooper and still doing it. She was able to get a break on Sunday and go to her grandma and grandpa's house. She was so excited because they let her help decorate the christmas tree.
The day of the surgery she was so big. Extra thanks to Grandma for being there and keeping her distracted until they wheeled her back. The surgery took about 1 hour and then she was in recovery for 2 hours. After we got back home she pretty much slept the rest of the day. I have been hoping that she would want to keep taking naps but that has yet to happen. One good note is that she seems to be sleeping at night so much better now.
HUGE THANK YOU'S TO THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE
THANK YOU TINA HANSEN for taking care of getting Brody to and from school.
THANKS TO KRISTI WHETTON for bringing Allie a bag of goodies. She loves to color and has pretty much finished one of the books you brought over.
THANKS to Aaron from Allie's primary class for bringing her a get well bag full of goodies. She loves it.
THANK YOU a million times to my mom (grandma) for being there for both of us that day and every day since. You are the best.
One side note Allie lost her first tooth last Thursday, the day before her surgery. She was so excited. You can see it missing in one of the pictures below.
These are of Allie shortly before they took her back for surgery. Again I love this girl soooo much. She is so unbelievable strong and brave.

Kelly, Although I am sorry Allie had to have surgery...(never fun to see your child under sedation)...I really loved the testimony you shared Sunday. You are awesome. And I'm so glad you survived...because I have to think it was harder on you than Allie! :)

Thanks Kristen, it meant to come out so differently. At least a little more structured. Guess you can't help it when the spirit is so strong. I hate crying so much when you are trying to say your testimony.
